Babushka Russian Deli and Restaurant

Owner Leo Malkow's shop of native delicacies is open 365 days a year, even on Christmas. From Sweet Kiss cheese with raisins and Russian butter to pickled cabbage and sauerkraut, Babushka is our Russian Hill.

Son Zoriy runs the kitchen and restaurant, and knows his fish and desert case: the Russian Napoleon and fresh nine layer vanilla cake., the smoked white fish, hot sturgeon and veal tongue.

The market stocks close to 1,000 different items with distinctive Russian packaging. Look for the little girl on the tube of the Ehmer chicken bologna, the bright pink foil babushka chocolates, and the elf on the Napitki lemonade. This is where you'll find white borscht soup mix, Moscow teacakes, canned beef goulash, herring, Romanian beer, Korovka wafer cookies, Nicolas II tea, and one of the most popular items, Monastyrskiy Okroshka Kvas, a Russian rye cola.
